New York City man charged with burglary in Dutchess County
AMENIA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- State police reported the arrest of a New York City man after a burglary investigation in Dutchess County. Isaiah Garcia, 26, is facing numerous charges.
On July 28 around 8:30 a.m., state police responded to Old Route 22 in Amenia following reports of someone carrying an ax in the area. Further investigation determined that the suspect allegedly used an ax, a bat and other tools to forcibly enter multiple buildings in the vicinity and steal property, including an antique pocket watch.
Troopers located Garcia and he was taken into custody after being identified as the suspect. He now faces the following charges:
- Three counts of third-degree burglary
- Fourth-degree criminal mischief
- Possession of burglar tools
- Fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property
Garcia was arraigned at the Town of Amenia Court before being released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to return to court at a later date.
