Americans Gershkovich and Whelan included in big east-west prisoner swap, Turkey says
Evan Gershkovich, a U.S. Wall Street Journal reporter, and former U.S. Marine Paul Whelan were among 26 prisoners from the United States, Russia, Germany, Poland, Slovenia, Norway, and Belarus released in a significant east-west exchange coordinated by Turkey on Thursday. Ten prisoners, including two minors, were transferred to Russia, 13 to Germany, and three to the United States.
