Love Island’s Joey Essex reveals he’s quitting the UK to star in US shows as he and Jessy Potts make first TV appearance
JOEY Essex has revealed he’s planning to take his TV career Stateside following his stint in the Love Island villa.
The Sun exclusively revealed yesterday how Joey, 34, has insisted Love Island will be his last ever reality show.
During an appearance on This Morning the former Towie star was quizzed on his comments.
Josie Gibson asked him: “Is it true that you’re quitting reality TV?”
Joey replied: “I’m taking a huge break. I feel like I’ve done every reality show possible now.
“I don’t think I’d really want to do Strictly. I’m just taking a break. I’ve got some opportunities over in America at the moment so I feel like I might maybe take it over there.”
During the interview Joey also the real reason he signed up for Love Island.
He said: “I just love the show.
“It was something that I wanted to tick off my bucket list. Me going in the villa, my main aim was to find love and to have fun on the way.”
He also hit back at claims he caused the drama, adding:” Everyone is encouraged to pot stir.
“I know what the producers want, the other Islanders don’t want to upset people. But with 13 years experience I know what to do.”
Speaking to The Sun yesterday Joey opened up about having his head turned by Jessy in the villa.
He said: “The first thing I noticed was her natural beauty. She turned around and I thought, ‘Wow’.
“And we just got along very well.
“There was a spark instantly, but in a natural way. And from the first date, there was no going back.
“I knew straight away. It didn’t take no longer than five, ten minutes.”
