‘Who on earth decided this’ shoppers fume as Heinz discontinues ‘astonishing’ sauce for good
HEINZ has scrapped one of its “best” sauces from shelves and fans have been left heartbroken.
The condiment makers Spicy Kebab sauce has vanished from supermarket aisles.
One eagle-eyed shopper noticed the products disappearance at a number of their local stores.
They raised the issue with the company on X, formerly known as Twitter.
They wrote: “Spicy Kebab sauce. Can’t get it anywhere for love nor money! Please send me some!!”
Heinz was quick to respond and confirmed that the sauce was no longer in production.
They said: “It’s been discontinued, I’m afraid.”
The fan appeared to take the news hard, responding: “Yet the smokey bacon flavoured sauce lives on? Astonishing.”
The 220g bottle of sauce was made with a combination of tomatoes, paprika and onions, and was inspired by the flavours of North Africa.
It was supposed to go alongside kebab grilled vegetables and rice dishes.
The product was available for around two quid, depending on whether or not it was on offer at supermarkets.
Its spicy condiment first started making ripples on the internet back in 2021, but it is hard to confirm when it actually came into production.
The product appears to be completely wiped from traditional grocery shelves, but an online website called MyJam is selling a bottle for £3.47.
The Sun has approached Heinz for comment.

The crunchy and tangy sauce will no longer be available to buy, the manufacturer confirmed earlier this month.
The condiment is often used on salads or jacket potatoes, but sadly it will no longer be produced.
Kellogg’s pulled its All Bran Golden Crunch has from supermarket aisles in recent weeks also.
But it is not all bad news for lovers of the caramel breakfast snack.
Kellanova, the new name for the company which owns the Kellogg’s brand, has told The Sun fans can find a very similar item on shelves.
They said: “We’ve decided to retire the name All Bran Golden Crunch but not the food. This is now available under our famous Special K brand and called Special K High Fibre Crunchy Golden Clusters.
“We’ve also made a few small tweaks to the food so it still tastes great but now passes the government’s strict nutrition guidelines.
“The cereal is available in all major supermarkets,” they added.
Nestle also axed its fan favourite Yorkie orange bars last year,.
Howevver, shoppers were able to pick up bars this year as retailers looked to clear stock.
The limited edition bars were launched in 2021 when orange chocolate was all the rage.
Around the same time Dairy Milk orange bars were also launched, following Cadbury‘s orange Twirl in 2019.
But Yorkie’s flamed-coloured version, along with Dairy Milk’s, have both now been scrapped, with loyal buyers left demanding its return.
Responding to the news on X, one fan who claimed to have bought 500 of them said: “Why on earth has it been discontinued?! It’s ten times better than Terry’s chocolate orange!”
Nestle said: “We’re sorry to say that Yorkie Orange hasn’t been available since 2023.
“This year, Yorkie fans can enjoy Yorkie Honeycomb, our current limited edition Yorkie bar that combines honeycomb flavour milk chocolate with honeycomb pieces.”
