GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Glens Falls man was sentenced to 37 years in prison for robbing two people at gunpoint and attempting to rob a third, dating back to January 10, 2023. Joshua Heym, 28, was found guilty of multiple charges in May.

According to authorities, Heym pointed a handgun at victims to rob them or attempted to rob them of money. He wore a mask while doing so, but because he was on parole due to a prior felony conviction, he was required to wear an ankle bracelet that tracked his movements.

Heym was traced back to each crime scene and was corroborated by 911 recordings, surveillance footage, and witness testimony. Heym received 15 years each for two robbery convictions, and seven years for attempted robbery. He faces a sentence of five years post-release supervision.

“These brazen crimes were committed on unsuspecting victims while the defendant was released under parole supervision for prior crimes," said Jason Carusone, Warren County District Attorney. "Thankfully, the Glens Falls Police Department, and an astute parole officer, helped to find the person responsible so he could be brought to justice. Assistant District Attorney Avi Goldstein and First Assistant District Attorney Matthew Burin did an excellent job presenting the case to the jury and now the Court’s sentence serves to protect the public from further harm.”
