Xbox announces yet another new controller – and everyone is making the same joke
XBOX and PlayStation have been trying to outdo each other by releasing special edition controllers for their consoles.
The latest exclusive design from Xbox comes right after their Deadpool & Wolverine collab, so all fans have been making the same joke on reddit.

It’s a throwback to the late ‘90s and early 2000s, when virtually all gaming accessories were made of transparent plastic.
The controller’s interior parts are coloured silver and shine through the translucent shell, giving the special edition accessory a very sophisticated and futuristic look.
The triggers and D-pad are metallic, while the grips are rubberised, for a very premium feel, too.
The Sky Cipher comes right after PlayStation announced its upcoming Astro Bot DualSense controller.
Last week, Xbox also revealed two very ‘cheeky’ special controllers, based off Deadpool and Wolverine’s bums.
Unlike the Sky Cipher, these were not for sale, but fans could enter raffles for a chance to win one.
As the Deadpool & Wolverine models featured detachable plastic bums on the back, many fans on social media joked about getting a translucent rear attachment for the Sky Cipher model, too.
Much like a regular Xbox controller, the Sky Cipher promises up to 40 hours of gameplay on a single pair of AA batteries.
Of course your mileage will vary based on the batteries you use, the games you play and other factors.
All standard features such as a 3.5mm headhphone jack, share button, and a quick pairing button, and vibration are present here as well.
The controller also comes in a brand-new packaging that is more sustainable for the environment.
The new box is smaller, ditches single-use plastic, and doesn’t waste paper on manuals, which have been replaced with a QR code.
The Sky Cipher Special Edition controller is available to pre-order now, priced at £64.99 / $69.99.
Players can purchase it from the Xbox website, Microsoft Store and select local retailers.
The new controller is expected to start shipping on August 13, 2024.
