Govt to monitor prices of 16 more commodities; to include besan, ghee, butter egg under price monitoring

The Ministry of Consumer Affairs has added 16 more commodities to its daily price monitoring, bringing the total to 38 items. This includes food staples and spices. The increased coverage is intended to stabilize prices and manage inflation. From August 2024, states lacking grain can buy directly from the Food Corporation of India to reduce surplus stocks.
