Channel 4 confirms fate of fashion show hosted by Geordie Shore legend
THE future of a popular Channel 4 fashion show has been confirmed by network bosses.
Presented by reality star Vicky Pattison, Second-Hand Showdown launched last year and has quickly gained a following.
The show challenges two guests to find a new style using only second-hand fashion.
Competing stylists Sabrina Grant and Joey Bevan create fresh looks for the participants in a ‘pre-loved pop-up’.
Channel 4 has now commissioned a second series of the show, which will debut on E4 with six 25-minute episodes.
Shorter edits of each episode will also be available on Channel 4’s social media platforms and YouTube channel.
Second-Hand Showdown takes viewers on a journey as the diverse range of participants open up about what fashion signifies for their identities and self-confidence.
In an emotional finale of Second-Hand Showdown, the winning wardrobe is revealed – and Vicky surprises contributors with an audience of their loved ones, who have joined in secret to witness these epic transformations.
Vicky, who is known for her time on Geordie Shore, expressed her enthusiasm for the project.
She told potential viewers: “I am a big fan of pre-loved fashion and the way it allows me to express my personality through outfits, so this series was right up my street.
“I’ve had a brilliant time working with Sabrina and Joey and all the team behind the scenes to prove that anyone can unleash their unique style through thoughtfully selected second-hand clothes.”
Rupinder Downie, the content solutions leader at Channel 4, shared his excitement about the new series and the broadcaster’s ongoing partnership with Vinted.
“It has been amazing to work with Vinted once again to bring to life this equally ambitious and entertaining second series,” he said.
“Debuting on digital before living on E4 demonstrates the breadth of touchpoints that Channel 4 can offer brands and aligns with our fast forward strategy.”
The first episode of the new series is set to premiere on Monday, August 12.
