Peabody Creek Trail
Photographer: Joe LaCour Summary Author: Joe LaCour
Just minutes from downtown Port Angeles, Washington and next to the Olympic National Park Visitor Center parking lot is Peabody Creek Trail. The trail follows Peabody Creek upstream and is an excellent easy hike (2.8 miles or 4.8 km) through a mature temperate rain forest. Fir, cedar, maple, and alder trees line the trail. Peabody Creek is one of the many streams in the Olympic Mountains that eventually empties into the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Photo taken in late December 2023, and yes, it was a bit muddy.
