NADA’s Anti-Doping Session for Cricketers at NCA: A Step Towards Clean Sports

0

At the National Cricket Academy in this city, the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) held a workshop for Indian cricket players on Thursday to raise awareness about doping in sports and how to provide an even playing field for sportsmen.

Since cricket is scheduled to make a comeback to the Olympics in Los Angeles in 2028, Indian cricket players should be completely informed of the anti-doping criteria and what constitutes a doping violation. Indian cricketers, like athletes from any other Olympic discipline, will be monitored by the World Anti Doping Agency (WADA).

“Women and men cricketers currently training at the National Cricket Academy are seen attending a session of the anti doping education program conducted by NADA,” the BCCI wrote in a post including pictures of the Indian men and women cricket players at the NCA attending a NADA session.

“These sessions are held to promote awareness and disseminate knowledge on a topic that is ever growing in importance across sports,” wrote BCCI on X.

Two teams, Great Britain and France, were the only ones to compete for medals in the sport of cricket during the 1900 Summer Olympics in Paris.

The T20 format of the sport will make a comeback to the Olympics in LA 2028.
