BBC Breakfast viewers stunned by surprising change to show after major shake ups
BBC Breakfast viewers were taken aback by a notable change to the beloved morning show today.
Following a series of major shake-ups, the program aired for longer than usual.
The morning show was cut short yesterday, confusing people watching at home.
BBC Breakfast usually airs for two hours on BBC One, but on Wednesday it switched over to BBC Two after just 45 minutes, where it then wrapped up earlier than its regular 9.30 am time slot, finishing at 9 am.
Today it was back to its usual two hour runtime, airing from 6am to 8am.
Regular hosts Jon Kay and Sally Nugent were also absent from the studio in another shake-up.
Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty were on the red sofa to delve into current events instead.
Jon went missing from BBC Breakfast earlier this week when he was given an urgent assignment in Southport.
He was tasked with reporting on the recent stabbings for BBC News at Ten.
His departure from the BBC Breakfast sofa led to an unexpected reshuffling of presenters, causing a bit of chaos in the morning’s scheduling.
In Jon’s absence, seasoned journalist and co-presenter Sally Nugent stepped up to take the lead.
Joining her was Ben Thompson, who took Jon’s place.
