FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Happy Thursday!
Our hot and muggy forecast trend continues today, and so do our pop-up storm chances. Expect mainly dry conditions most of the day, with a good bit of sunshine, and highs warming into the lower 90s, with "feels-like" temps approaching the triple digits. A similar feel to yesterday. Then as we get into the evening hours, scattered storms start rolling in. These last through the early overnight.
The Storm Prediction Center has southwestern parts of our area under a 2-out-of-5 risk for strong-severe thunderstorms for later this evening. Primarily we'll be watching for gusty winds, and localized heavy rainfall, as these cells do have the capability of carrying a lot of moisture.
For Friday, expect lingering thunderstorms on-and-off throughout the day, but especially increasing in coverage with heating in the afternoon. Highs top out in the upper 80s with a muggy feel.
Showers and thunderstorms linger into Saturday, eventually clearing up into the evening. Highs drop back to the middle 80s.
The end of the weekend will be nicer. We'll see more sunshine Sunday, with lowering humidity, and highs in the upper 80s.
