Nicholas Galitzine has become an actor attached to many upcoming movies and television shows. While the British actor’s career debuted a decade ago, it kicked into high gear in 2021 when he landed the role of Prince Charming in Prime Video’s “Cinderella.”

Over the last few years, Galitzine has appeared on Netflix, Prime Video, and Starz, as well as in many films.

In addition to acting, he’s a talented singer and has contributed to several of the soundtracks of his projects, showing his range as a performer. He’s portrayed royalty several times and sung and played instruments in many other roles, but he’s excelled whether they’ve been dramatic or comedic roles.

Like many younger actors, Galitzine has had the pleasure of working with some accomplished veteran actors when he started out. He’s grown from those experiences and perfected his own craft.

We’ve done the hard work and have assembled a list of his best projects over the last decade. While there are some obvious choices, some of these may surprise you, and you may enjoy watching some of Galitzine’s earlier projects.

The Beat Beneath My Feet (2014)

Role: Tom Heath. Available to Watch on Tubi.

(Tubi/Screenshot)

Kicking off our is Nicholas Galitzine’s first feature film. Even though it was his first film, The Beat Beneath My Feet set the stage for his career since he excelled at singing and playing the guitar in it.

The Beat Beneath My Feet focuses on Tom (Galitzine), who struggles with depression and loneliness. It’s a coming-of-age film that many relate to since his parents aren’t around much, and he practices the guitar in secret because his mom doesn’t approve, and he’s overcome with stage fright.

The film climaxes when Tom meets his unruly neighbor Steve (the late Luke Perry), who is blaring his rock music. When Tom discovers that Steve “died” eight years ago, he blackmails him into teaching him how to play music for a competition.

This is a delightful film for anyone who enjoys rock music and who wants to see Perry in one of his last films with an upcoming star.

Handsome Devil (2017)

Role: Conor Masters. Available to Watch on Tubi

(Tubi/Screenshot)

Handsome Devil was the first time Galitzine portrayed an LGBTQ+ character, though not the last. The film portrayed the hypocrisy of the Irish school system and themes of homosexuality.

Handsome Devil revolves around Ned (Fionn O’Shea), an ostracized teen at an Irish rugby school who is roommates with Conor (Galitzine). Though they initially become friends, problems arise when Ned and a teacher learn Conor is gay because of strict guidelines.

The best part of the film was the beautiful Irish scenery since it was shot on location at Castleknock College. The film was inspired by writer and director Jon Butler’s own experiences at college.

This was a very eye-opening film about gay friendships. If you want to watch another queer rom-com, check out The Thing About Harry.

The Craft: Legacy (2020)

Role: Timmy Andrews. Available to Watch on Starz and VOD

(STARZ/Screenshot)

While Galitzine isn’t a lead character of The Craft: Legacy, he’s an important part of the film.

The Craft: Legacy is a sequel to the original 1996 and follows another coven of girls: Frankie, Tabby, Lourdes, and the newest member, Lily. Galitzine plays the high school bully, Timmy, whom the coven vows revenge on and places a spell on.

Things become complicated when the spell works, and he becomes friends with them and confides in his darkest secret. Galitzine excels at playing two different layered parts to his character, and the coven becomes confused.

The sequel included more modern nuances to develop the characters and was an entertaining teen Halloween movie. For more TV shows about covens, check out The Secret Circle or Charmed.

Chambers (2019)

Role: Elliot Lefevre. Available to Watch on Netflix.

(Courtesy of Nextflix)

Chambers delves into the supernatural and mystery genre when Sasha, who almost dies of a heart attack, receives Becky’s heart and is haunted by her spirit.

Things get weird when Sasha meets Becky’s parents, played by Uma Thurman and Tony Goldwyn, and the brother, played by Galitzine. It’s obvious the family dynamics are off as he’s a recovering heroin addict, and Sasha’s main goal is to learn how Becky died.

While it initially starts slow, Sasha’s (Sivan Alyra Rose) visions are terrifying, and she suspects a conspiracy. It almost seems like she takes Becky’s place, as she is invited to go to the same private school and hang out with her brother and friends.

Ironically, Uma Thurman played Galitzine’s mom in Chambers four years before she played his co-star’s mom in Red, White, and Royal Blue.

These supernatural horror series have become popular, and this one has combined some of the genre’s better qualities. You can check out other series, like The Haunting of Hill House, on Netflix.

High Strung (2016)

Role: Johnnie Blackwell. Available to Watch on Tubi

(Tubi/Screenshot)

If you haven’t seen High Strung, add it to your watch list. This is a Nicholas Galitzine must-see because it was his first romance film, combined with what he does best — music.

The film centers around Ruby (Keenan Kampa), who struggles to keep her scholarship at the Manhattan Conservatory of Arts because she’s failing her contemporary dance class.

Johnnie Blackwell (Galitzine) has a different dream: to get his U.S. visa. He plays the violin in the streets for money. Suddenly, their worlds collide, and they work together to achieve their dreams by entering a competition for money and a scholarship to her dance academy.

Galitzine gives a wonderful, layered performance, balancing Johnnie’s disdain for rules and routines and his love of art. It was entertaining watching them blend their differences.

This film is ideal for teens or those who still love teen moves. You’ll appreciate two different worlds colliding, beautiful choreography, and various dance styles. If you love dance-centric films and TV shows, you’ll find many options, including the Step Up franchise.

Cinderella (2021)

Role: Prince Robert. Available to Watch on Prime Video

(Christopher Raphael /Prime)

Cinderella has been one of the most remade adaptations, but Prime Video’s version surprised me. It was modern, charming, and funny, and Nicholas Galitzine was made to play a prince. This role set him apart and put him on the map.

In this updated version, Galitzine’s Prince Robert and Camila Cabello’s Cinderella feel bound by tradition. Instead of longing for love, Cinderella longs to open a dress shop, while her stepmother wants her to find a suitor. Prince Robert is more torn by societal expectations and the king’s views that marriage shouldn’t be for love.

The two have undeniable chemistry, and they gave strong performances on-screen and as a musical duo. Galitzine sang seven songs on the Cinderella soundtrack, and while he’s sung on other soundtracks, these were his most powerful ones.

While this was a different take on Cinderella, it still had powerful musical numbers and entertaining moments. If you believe in fairytales and happily ever after, check out Once Upon A Time.

Purple Hearts (2022)

Role : Luke Morrow. Available to Watch on Netflix

(Courtesy of Netflix © 2022)

What’s a better romantic trope than enemies-to-lovers or opposites attract? It works so well, and sparks flew in Purple Hearts when Marine Luke Morrow (Galitzine) and singer-songwriter Cassie Salazar (Sofia Carson) meet at the bar where she works.

Cassie struggled to afford the insulin needed for her diabetes, and Luke owed $15,000 to his drug dealer. Though they are initially against it, the two enter a marriage of convenience so she’ll get health insurance and Luke will earn more money.

While this type of film has been done before, both Galitzine and Carson excelled at this emotional tug of war as they realized they grew to care about each other and their health as their vows took on new meaning. Like in Cinderella, Galitzine and Carson sang some beautiful romantic ballads that elevated the film.

Romantic movies are a mainstay in our culture. If you enjoy films that follow the Nicholas Sparks genre, check out The Notebook. If you prefer military dramas, try binging Army Wives.

Bottoms (2023)

Role: Jeff. Available to Watch on MGM+

(MGM+/Screenshot)

Galitzine was not the central character in Bottoms, a different kind of coming-of-age satirical comedy, but his character was essential to the plot.

Bottoms centers around PJ (Rachel Sennott) and Josie ( Ayo Edebiri), two lesbians who form a “fight club” under the disguise of female empowerment, but it’s to entice their crushes.

Galitzine plays Jeff, the star quarterback, in a tumultuous relationship with Isabel, one of the cheerleaders. After he and Isabel break up, the club vows revenge on him. Bottoms contains violence and humor, and the cast gives layered performances.

Bottoms was a defining teen comedy for Gen Z. It’s similar to other classics, like Fight Club or Booksmart, which encompass high energy and teen culture.

Mary & George (2024)

Role: George Villars. Available to Watch on Starz

(Courtesy of STARZ)

Galitzine finally had a role to sink his teeth into that didn’t involve playing a heartthrob. He played George Villars so well that many thought he would have been nominated for his role in a Limited Series for the Emmys.

Galitzine played George Villars, Mary Villars’s son, in Starz’s Mary and George. Galitzine excelled at working with Julianne Moore as mother and son played chess for power and wealth.

From the very first episode, the stage was set that she would control him until he was ruined, but Galitzine sunk his teeth into some meaty material. This was the third time he played royalty, but the first time the scripts were historical, and he was acting with a legend like Moore.

Mary & George was cunning and fun. If you enjoy historical dramas like that, consider watching The Serpent Queen.

Red, White and Royal Blue (2023)

Role: Prince Henry. Available to Watch on Prime Video

(Courtesy of Amazon)

This was Galitzine’s best-acted role to date. I’ve watched this film more times than I can count, and he gave the most emotional performance yet.

Again, Galitzine plays a prince bound by duty and societal expectations. However, that’s worsened by the fact that he’s gay and he’s falling for the U.S. President’s son and his archival, Alex Claremont-Diaz (Taylor Zakhar Perez).

Galitzine excelled at playing different sides of Prince Henry, who blossomed at being in love but worried about coming out in the public eye. It was a very relatable arc.

Viewers related to the storyline and Galitzine and Zakhar-Perez’s chemistry that a sequel was ordered in May 2024. Red, White, and Royal Blue was nominated for Best Television Movie for a Primetime Emmy.

The Idea of You (2024)

Role: Hayes Campbell. Available to Watch on Prime Video.

(@Amazon Content Services LLC)

Recently, Galitzine has portrayed vulnerable and charming characters. While Anne Hathaway owned The Idea of You, Galitzine was cast perfectly as boy bander Hayes Campbell and had natural chemistry with Hathaway.

The film follows Solène (Hathaway), a 40-year-old single mom seeking a new direction when she meets Hayes (Galitzine) at a Coachella concert. Hayes is tired of being recognized everywhere and is relieved that Solène is unaware of his fame.

Galitzine plays another character who dislikes people assuming things about him because he’s famous. Hayes wants to find true love with someone who knows him.

This film was rated R for its sultry sex scenes. Prime Video has been including more rom-coms in their list, so check them out.

(Courtesy of Amazon Studios)

Galitzine has been busy filming with new projects. As mentioned, he is already filming Red, White, and Blue 2.

Recently, he was cast to play He-Man in the film adaptation of “Masters of the Universe.” He will also join Hugh Jackman in the Amazon MGM Studios movie, “Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Movie, a live-action comedy due in February 2026.
