Game Day! US And South Sudan Set To Go At It Again
We could be wrong here, but our money says the US is going to come out in big brother mode.
It’s Game Day for Team USA as the US Olympic Men’s Basketball team gets a rematch with South Sudan, featuring Duke freshman Khaman Maluach.
You’ll recall that the Bright Stars pushed the US to the absolute brink in exhibition play before Team USA pulled it out and then defended well enough to stop a clutch late shot.
The US was favored by 43.5 in that one and the oddsmakers have adjusted, changing the margin to 29.5.
That might be a mistake.
We have a world of respect for what Luol Deng has built at record speed. However, the US was clearly not playing at the highest level in that game and, critically, didn’t have the services of Kevin Durant.
He was a devastating weapon against Serbia over the weekend and to put it simply, he changes things.
It won’t be easy for South Sudan to be as competitive in this rematch. Gametime is 3:00 PM EST. USA! USA! USA!
