I save cash buying Tesco F&F clothes thanks to a little known hack – my tees go from £7 down to £2.50

FINDING the perfect vest is a slog every summer.

Some gape around the armpits, while others make us feel like sausage meat squeezing into casing.

But there’s a way you can nab them for even cheaper, say Tesco shoppers[/caption]

However, some shoppers claim they have found the perfect budget solution to our vest woes.

And it’s lurking in F&F at Tesco’s children’s wear department.

Children’s age 13-14 plain ribbed vests are flying off the shelves – but not necessarily into the wardrobes of teens.

It’s actually because women have noticed that this teenager size is the same as a women’s small.

Fashionistas have claimed that both vests share the exact same ribbed and racer style.

And not only do the juvenile tops “fit way better” according to some, they’re also a heck of a lot cheaper.

While one women’s vest from the F&F range will set you back £7, a pack of two from the kids section is £5.

That works out at just £2.50 per top.

These vests are gaining popularity among women who’ve discovered that they offer a snug, flattering fit.

Among the fans of the budget fashion hack is content creator Mia Lorrina, who took to Instagram to alert her followers.

She dubbed the style swap a “no brainer”.

“I’ll be squeezing into kidswear for the foreseeable,” Mia penned.

Worried about looking like mutton dressed as lamb? Fashionistas say don’t be.

“I’ve been doing this for ages,” shopper Ciara Clarke penned under Mia’s video.

Is supermarket fashion the new high street?

DEPUTY Fashion Editor Abby McHale weighs in:

The supermarkets have really upped their game when it comes to their fashion lines. These days, as you head in to do your weekly food shop you can also pick up a selection of purse-friendly, stylish pieces for all the family.

Tesco has just announced a 0.7 per cent increase in the quarter thanks to a ‘strong growth in clothing’ and M&S has earnt the title of the number one destination for womenswear on the high street.

Asda’s clothing line George has made £1.5 million for the supermarket in 2023, 80 per cent of Sainsbury’s clothes sold at full price rather than discounted and Nutmeg at Morrisons sales are also up 2 per cent in the past year.

So what is it about supermarket fashion that is becoming so successful?

Apart from the clothing actually being affordable, it’s good quality too – with many being part of schemes such as the Better Cotton Initiative.

A lot of the time they keep to classic pieces that they know will last the customer year after year.

Plus because they buy so much stock they can turn around pieces quickly and buy for cheaper because of the volumes.

“The fit for kids tees and vests is identical to adults size small I find.”

Another shopper claimed she has “saved hundreds over the years” using this hack.

The vests in F&F’s children’s wear range are versatile, basic pieces that can be easily incorporated into any wardrobe – just like the adult versions.

Whether you’re layering under a blazer for a polished look or pairing with tracksuit for a casual vibe, a good ribbed vest is a wardrobe staple.

For budget-conscious shoppers, this fashion hack is a game-changer as it helps you spend savvy.

By opting for these affordable yet stylish vests, you can free up more of your budget for investment items… or even the weekly shop.
