A HOME dubbed Britain’s cheapest has hit the market – boasting a spacious living room and garden.

The detached house sits in one of the historic counties of England that’s home to more than 500 miners’ cottages, as well as several shops and chapels.

The wee house has a price tag of just £15,000 and experts say it’s one of the cheapest in the country at the moment.

The two-bed, one-bathroom property also plays host to a decent-sized garden, kitchen and living room.

Zoopla’s Consumer Spokesman Daniel Copley told ChronicleLive: “This two up, two down is a great option for first-time buyers looking to get on the property ladder.

“It’s the perfect property for a buyer looking to make a property their own, just make sure you budget correctly as costs can quickly add up.”

Any while it’s labelled the “cheapest house in the country”, it still has plenty to offer.

The home may need a little TLC but still boasts an open fireplace in the living room and modern pine units in the kitchen.

The detached property in the North East of England in Bolden Colliery, a village in Tyne and Wear.

Sitting close to local shops, places to eat, the home seems to be perfectly located and even has a friendly local – The Colliery Tavern.

Hedworth park is in easy reach, along with local primary schools such as Hedworth Lane Primary School and Hedworthfield Primary School – both under a mile away.

Both primary schools boast “Good” OFSTED ratings.

Nearby transport links include Newcastle International Ferry Terminal and South Shields Ferry Terminal, both under five miles away.

According to rightmove, properties in Boldon Colliery had an overall average price of £191,436 over the last year.

Being extremely reasonably priced, there are drawbacks of the property, including the low bathroom ceiling and galley-style kitchen.

However, it could be the first step onto the property ladder for first time buyers.

It comes after another home was labelled the cheapest in the UK when it hit the market for a mere £3,000.

Both properties are situated in the North East, however, this terraced home is in County Durham.

It also offered two bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room and a separate dining room.

When the home was listed, it also boasted an outdoor space at the back of the property.

Like the detached property, this terraced home required improvement with pictures showing its old fashioned curtains and carpets.

Meanwhile, another property was weeks ago dubbed “Britain’s cheapest house” was on sale for £4,000.

It was located in the village of Chopwell, near Newcastle and has its own garden and a huge living room.

The online auction for this property was held on July 10.
