Southport stabbing: Update on children injured in stabbing as cops say they’re ready to stop more riots
COPS have given an update on the children injured in the Southport stabbing rampage and say they are ready to stop more riots.
Three people have been arrested in relation to the unrest last night – sparked after the horror attack at a Taylor Swift dance class on Monday, Merseyside Police said.
Merseyside Police Chief Constable Serena Kennedy speaking to the media near the scene in Hart Street[/caption]The force confirmed this afternoon the conditions of eight of the children and the two adults injured in the Hart Street attack on Monday remain the same.
Chief constable Serena Kennedy said of the riot: “Three arrests were made, however more will follow.
“It’s impossible to say (how many will be arrested). It’s really early days in the investigation.”
She estimated 200 to 300 people were involved.
Ms Kennedy said: “Initially, there were about 70 people who made their way away from the vigil and were making their way towards the mosque.
“They suddenly became about 200 in number and then others joined that number.”
