Ring working to fix 'outage' affecting doorbell cameras, recordings
(WJW) -- Ring users experienced issues with their doorbell camera recordings and other applications as the company worked to resolve a "multiple system outage" on Tuesday.
The Amazon-owned company said it has since implemented a fix and some of its services are starting to recover.
Earlier in the evening, Ring posted a notification on its website saying it was "investigating issues with multiple Ring systems impacting things like Live View, Recordings, Timeline, Event History, etc."
The sign-in screen on Ring's website also led to an error page that read, "Something went wrong there. Sorry about that. Please try again. (500 Error)."
Downdetector, which monitors outages and issues in real-time, showed a spike in Ring outage reports just before 6 p.m. ET.
"We are aware that some Ring customers are experiencing a service disruption," the company previously said on X, formerly Twitter. "We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this issue."
By 10:45 p.m. ET, the outage reports had significantly dwindled.
Nexstar's WJW reached out to Ring for a statement. A spokesperson said customers can "find updates at the Ring status page."
