‘You did fantastic’ people cry as mum-of-four shows how she transformed a pile of soil into lush garden with DIY
A HOMEOWNER showed off how she transformed a pile of soil into luscious green grass.
The mum-of-four explained how she was able to give her garden the ultimate glow up.
Posting in the Facebook group Gardening, Homemaking, and Homesteading on a Budget, one user revealed the outdoor remodel she undertook.
The poster explained that she has four children and only found time to work on the space in the past three years.
She revealed that her youngest two children are being educated at home and have been helping her do up the garden.
In the before picture, the lawn area of the garden featured patchy grass with weeds dotted throughout.
The long area was bordered by fences with overgrown hedges and a garden path.
There were also various sports equipment inlcuding a basketball net and footballs pictured in the space.
The after picture showed a healthy lush-looking lawn with floursihing flowerbeds along the side.
More flowerbeds featured along the concrete area closest to the house, as well as potted plants, a statue, and a small picket fence.
The basketball hoop was removed from the side of the garden shed and an outdoor dining table was set up at the end of the lawn.
She also added another outdoor seating area, which included hanging seats and a trellis with climbing plants on the side of the shed.
According to the green-thumbed Facebook user, they used 40 tonnes of soil to transform the grass.
“We barrowed [the soil] in by hand to bring the garden back up to level,” she explained.
She added that all the plants pictured had been either been gifted to her or she had purchased them at an affordable price.
The gardening fan explained that she mainly propogated the plants or sowed the seeds herself.
“I’m quite proud when I look back at what I’ve achieved in only three years,” she said.
