Tornado Warned Supercell Thunderstorm
Photographer: Cynthia HeverSummary Author: Cynthia Hever
Shown above is an approaching supercell thunderstorm over southwestern Oklahoma that that dropped several tornadoes and golf ball size hail. I quickly snapped it from my truck window on April 30, 2024. I wasn't exactly thrilled to be driving in the direction of this attention-getting storm. Note the classic anvil shape of this huge storm and the overshooting top.
