Hundreds of Verizon users report outage in NY: Downdetector
NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Hundreds of Verizon users in the tri-state area reported outages Tuesday for their cellphone service, according to Downdetector.
The most reported locations include Poughkeepsie, Newburgh, New York City, and Brooklyn, according to the company's website.
Customers in Dutchess County also reported issues connecting to Verizon's home internet, according to the Dutchess County Emergency Management Department.
The outages were caused by a network disruption that began early Tuesday morning, according to Verizon. As a result, customers are experiencing limited data, voice, text, and wireless home internet service.
The wireless network operator claims service restoration may take up to 22 hours.
