First look at Race Across the World’s second celebrity spin off as famous model takes on BBC legend
SHOW bosses have given fans their first glimpse into the second season of BAFTA award-winning Celebrity Race Across the World.
The highly anticipated reality show is returning for another series at 9pm on Wednesday, August 14.
This time, broadcaster Jeff Brazier, actor Kola Bokinni, broadcaster Kelly Brook, and Radio 2 host Scott Mills are set to compete in the 12,500 km race across South America.
The six-part series will be aired on BBC One and iPlayer.
Jeff will be joined by his son, Freddy; Kola by his cousin, Mary Ellen; Kelly by her husband, Jeremy; and Scott by his husband (then fiancé), Sam.
Their adventurous journey kicks off in Belém, Northern Brazil – the gateway to the Amazon.
From there, the celebrity teams will traverse five checkpoints, ultimately reaching the finish line in the Andes in Southern Chile.
Throughout the journey, the celebrities and their loved ones will have to rely on their street smarts and resourcefulness.
In true Race Across the World fashion, they will navigate the terrain without modern luxuries such as smartphones, the internet, and personal bank cards.
Instead, they’ll be given the cash equivalent of completing the route by plane, as well as maps and travel guides to help them on their way.
Tim Harcourt, Chief Creative Officer of Studio Lambert, expressed his excitement about the new series.
Speaking to potential viewers, he said: “After the phenomenally successful run of the first celebrity series, and more recently the fourth series of the regular series – we can’t wait to bring audiences along with us to the huge South American continent and its jaw-dropping scenery, in a race which will push our celebrities and their loved ones to their absolute limits.”
