Over 1 million NY families to receive financial help: Find out if you qualify
NEW YORK (PIX11) – More than 1 million New York families will receive financial help through the state's Empire State Child Credit program, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Tuesday.
Low- to moderate-income families can get up to $330 per child and don't need to apply to receive it. The state is giving out $350 million in total, Hochul said.
The newest wave of financial help is an additional payment on top of the 2023 tax credit families in the program received after filing their taxes earlier this year. The supplemental payments will equal 25-100% of the credit, depending on the family's income, according to officials.
The checks will start getting mailed out the first week of August.
