Deputies: Bicyclist killed in Milton crash

MILTON, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A bicyclist was struck and killed late Monday night near the Saratoga Winery in Milton. Deputies say Nathan Shreve, 44, Saratoga Springs, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies from the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office responded to State Route 29 around 11:38 p.m. Monday for reports of a car crash. Authorities say a 2014 Jeep Compass was traveling eastbound on Route 29 when it struck two bicyclists also traveling east on Route 29.

Deputies say one of the bikers, Shreve, died at the scene. The second biker was taken to Saratoga Hospital for evaluation of non-life-threatening injuries. The Jeep driver was uninjured.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
