Morning Report: Sean O’Malley goes off on ‘jealous b*tch’ Conor McGregor: ‘I could beat Conor in a fight’
Sean O’Malley is back to not liking Conor McGregor.
The reigning UFC bantamweight champion has made his admiration for "The Notorious" no secret throughout the years. As he's risen to new heights in fame, O'Malley has had several interactions with McGregor online. Unfortunately for him, they haven't always been positive.
O'Malley, 29, spoke on his YouTube channel last week about his experience with the banned substance ostarine. "Sugar" was dealt two six-month suspensions by USADA in 2018 after testing positive, which he claimed was from tainted supplements. When discussing ostarine, O'Malley stated how he'd have it transferred through sweat from his training partners in the gym sometimes, arguing scientific proof in his favor. In response, McGregor tweeted a laughing face emoji that didn't sit well with O'Malley.
“Conor does his little f*cking bump and puts a laughy face and, oh, that one drove me a little crazy,” O’Malley said on his YouTube channel. “I’m like, really, motherf*cker? This is science. I posted the scientific page it was on print, the science about it, which was good. People were like, ‘Damn, that’s legit.’
“I think Conor deleted the tweet, but I went on a little rampage. I was just sitting in my — it was that Monday that Tammy [my cow] died. I was in Vegas at my hotel room waiting to go to my faceoffs, had a little extra free time, grabbed my Twitter phone, and I was just f*cking Twitter fingers turned to Twitter fingers, tweeting it out. He’s a jealous b*tch, that’s what it is. On drugs.”
O'Malley became a champion in the time since McGregor last fought in July 2021 when he scored a second-round TKO over Aljamain Sterling at UFC 292 last August. The former featherweight and lightweight champion was supposed to return for his long-awaited clash against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 this past month. That was until a broken pinky toe forced his withdrawal.
During his time off, McGregor visibly bulked up for his role in Road House alongside Jake Gyllenhaal. Despite McGregor's Chandler fight being booked for welterweight, O'Malley wouldn't expect size to be an issue if they fought.
“You know what’s crazy?” O’Malley asked. “When I look at a professional athlete, a professional fighter who weighs 190, Conor probably weighs 190, right? 185? In the UFC, I look at that, I’m like, okay, I’m realistic. I weigh 155, 160. There’s weight classes for a reason, but I’m not gonna trip those guys. I will trip Conor because I do believe I could beat Conor in a fight. I’m not just saying that. I think, stylistically, I could beat Conor in a fight. Not an easy fight. But I wouldn’t call out somebody if I didn’t think I could beat him in a fight. I think I beat Conor in a fight. At this point right now. He’s thick, but he’s short.”
O'Malley will seek his second successful title defense when he faces Merab Dvalishvili in the UFC 306 main event on Sept. 14 at Sphere in Las Vegas.

Well, Sean, unfortunately for you, I don’t think you’ll ever get a chance to test this theory. Stylistically, and if you were the same size, it would be a great matchup, though.
