0

The Pakistani Army has reported that five militants were killed in a series of operations by the country’s security forces in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. According to the army’s public relations office, one police officer also lost his life in these confrontations.

The army stated that on Monday, July 29th, three militants and one police officer were killed in clashes between militants and Pakistani security forces in the Momand area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In a separate operation in Dera Ismail Khan, another key militant, identified as Sifatullah, also known as Mullah Mansoor, was killed. The operation resulted in three other militants being injured.

Additionally, a militant was reported killed in North Waziristan during a skirmish with security forces.

Recent escalations in militancy have further destabilized the region. Militants have intensified their attacks, contributing to heightened insecurity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The surge in violence underscores the growing challenges faced by local and Pakistani security forces in maintaining control and ensuring the safety of civilians.

There have been allegations that the Taliban support the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), claims which the Afghan Taliban have denied.

However, the Taliban have vehemently denied these accusations, asserting that they will not allow any group to use Afghanistan soil for militant activities. The denial comes amid rising tensions and accusations from various quarters about the involvement of regional actors in supporting militant activities.
