Biblio House is a minimal home located in Toronto, Canada, designed by Simone Ferkul. The property provides a balanced environment tailored to the distinct needs of the two families sharing ownership. According to Parimal Gosai, CEO and Co-Founder of Husmates, the renovation was a complex yet seamlessly executed project that required meticulous design planning from the outset. The redesigned space now boasts a fluid layout between public and private zones, significantly enhanced by natural light which amplifies both its functionality and visual appeal. The interior features a warm, earth-toned color palette, with shades of terracotta, ochre, and green reminiscent of traditional Mexican aesthetics, fostering a tranquil atmosphere conducive to reading and creative endeavors.

Central to the residence is a library, with floor-to-ceiling oak bookshelves that not only store an extensive collection of books but also display a variety of personal artifacts, crafting a personalized retreat for intellectual engagement. Additionally, the house includes an art studio bathed in natural light, equipped with easels and art supplies, promoting daily artistic expression. Further personalization is evident through the placement of curated artwork, sculptures, and artifacts throughout the home, reflecting the residents’ unique experiences and tastes, and enhancing the home’s creative and culturally appreciative ethos. The kitchen and dining area are designed to complement the home’s creative spirit, equipped with modern appliances and custom oak cabinetry. This space is intended to be a hub for both culinary creativity and social gatherings, enriching the daily experiences of its inhabitants.
