This week, there is no PGA Tour event as normal competition pauses for the 2024 Paris Olympics Games.
First is the male golf competition, which will be held Aug. 1-4 at Le Golf National.
Next week, the women’s golf tournament will be held from Aug. 8 to 11. The best 60 women will tee it up, but before they take the course, the best male golfers will compete for a gold, silver, and bronze medal throughout a 72-hole stroke play event.

The 2024 Paris Olympics Men’s Golf Preview
Cheers to more breakfast golf, as there will be two more weeks for the Olympics. So, stock up on the coffee and cheer for your home country. Golf returns for its third modern Olympic Games at Le Golf National outside of Paris.
The men will play on the Par 71, 7,174-yard track that hosted the 2018 Ryder Cup. That year, Team Europe defeated Team USA 17.5-10.5.
This year’s Olympic field features some of the biggest names in professional golf. Team USA has World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler making his Olympic debut. Returning to defend his gold medal is 2024 PGA Championship and Open Championship winner Xander Schauffele.
Rounding out Team USA is two-time major winner Collin Morikawa and the 2023 U.S. Open champion Wyndham Clark.
Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry will represent Ireland. LIV Golf’s Jon Rahm will play on Team Spain. Jason Day, Viktor Hovland, Hideki Matsuyama and Ludvig Åberg will also play for their home countries.
Schauffele is the favorite for the men’s competition this week, but do not shy away from Scheffler because 2024 has been quite the year for him.
Three years ago, there were no fans for the Tokyo Olympics, but now plenty are in Paris for the 2024 Games. It is good to see the Olympics back to normal as they return to the historic city of Paris.
Can Team USA win gold again, or will another country reclaim the top of the podium?
