Gardeners’ World star Monty Don leaves fans in bits with poignant social media post
GARDENERS’ World star Monty Don has left his fans in bits with a poignant social media post.
He left his devoted followers absolutely devastated when he announced the passing of his beloved Golden Retriever, Nell, last year.
Monty, 69, is no stranger to posting updates that regularly feature his pet pooches, Ned, and Patti.
He always seems to delight fans with his adorable posts, which give fans a behind-the-scenes snapshot of life with his canine companions.
But he recently took to social media with a poignant image of his pet Ned, who was snapped running through a wildflower meadow.
Taking to Instagram on Monday (July 29), Monty shared an image of Ned running through a wildflower meadow.
The BBC Two expert also shared an image of the pooch smiling in what looked like the Jewel Garden at his famous Longmeadow estate.
But fans could not help but get emotional as they clamoured for even more updates.
“Thanks Monty for brightening our days with goodness!”, exclaimed one user.
A second stated: “I love seeing your beautiful gardens but I love seeing pics of Ned even more.”
While a third fan commented: “Nice to see Ned taking the time to smell the flowers in your beautiful meadow.”
As a fourth Gardener’s World viewer wrote: “We need more wildflower meadows & Ned too, little Patti would be lost in there, all beautiful to see.”
“The love in his eyes and little smile, saying just for me”, posted a fifth user.
However, one fan couldn’t help but remember his beloved pooch that he lost last year, as they paid tribute to the famous animal.
Another fan added: “I love seeing Ned but I have to admit that I miss seeing sweet Nellie.”
Monty welcomed the new member of his tribe in 2022 after he lost his previous pooch Nigel.
He celebrated Ned’s second birthday earlier this month with a gushing post on social media.
