Netflix bosses reveal huge shake up to the streaming service – and it’ll cost viewers
NETFLIX bosses have torn up their pricing strategies and introduced a huge shake-up for viewers.
The streaming site is ditching its basic ad-free plan in favour of a more expensive model in a crushing blow to users.

But that will be no more according to Netflix’s latest plans.
From August, the basic plan will be ditched in favour of a total of three options, the Standard with adverts, the Standard without adverts and the Premium plan.
Revealing the changes, a statement from Netflix reads: “The Basic plan is no longer available for new or rejoining members. If you are currently on the Basic plan, you can remain on this plan until your plan is changed or your account is cancelled.”
A plan with adverts will be the cheapest option which fans can obtain for just £4.99.
With the £6.99 option now axed, the next best thing to get to tune in without a slew of adverts is the £10.99 bundle.
For that price, you can get uninterrupted viewing in full HD and stream on two devices at once.
Or if you feel like splashing out, you can pay up to £17.99 for the same benefits but upgraded to Ultra HD as well as streaming on four devices with the added option of downloading content on six.
The news comes as Netflix released a colossal list of all the shows it plans to axe ahead of August.
Fans should prepare to bid farewell to some major 2000s comedy films, including The Devil Wears Prada, The Guilt Trip, and Easy A.
Netflix viewers should also be prepared to lose Brad Pitt’s 2016 World War II thriller Allied and 2021 sport drama King Richard which stars Will Smith and is based on the early lives of tennis legends Venus and Serena Williams.
