LOVE Island host Maya Jama took a savage swipe at Jess White during the live final.

On Monday’s episode of the ITV2 show, former stars from the 11th series, who had left the villa at various stages, returned for the special event.

Jess and her partner Hugo Godfroy were back in the villa and Maya couldn’t resist throwing shade at the 25-year-old store manager.

Standing on stage, the presenter said: “Which of the couples are exclusive enough to take home the ultimate prize? Not you, Jess, but the £50k.”

The comment was a dig at Jess, who had often called herself “the prize” for any potential partner that came into the villa.

Some fans caught on to the cheeky joke and took to X, formerly Twitter, to share their thoughts.

One user said: Yikes Maya Jama just threw Jess under the bus lol

Another said: “Not you Jess” oooh don’t gag her Maya.”

A third added: “Not you Jess Im crying Maya.”

“Maya is too funny. not her shading Jess,” said a fourth.

Last night’s episode saw Mimii Ngulube and Josh Oyinsan scoop the £50k prize money.

The duo made history as the first all black couple to triumph in the nail-biting finale.

Mimii said of the win: “I wasn’t expecting this” and that she felt “over stimulated, overwhelmed, grateful”.

The pair beat the villa favourites Ciaran Davies, 21, and Nicole Samuel, 24.

They also triumphed over finalists Sean Stone and Matilda Draper, who came in third place, and Ayo Odukoya and Jess Spencer, who placed fourth.

Josh said he had tunnel vision for Mimii when he entered the villa two weeks ago.

He told Maya during their exit interview: “I told her when I met her, she surprised me, everything I expected her to be, she was and more.

“So I didn’t need to make other connections.”
