Witty retort: Royals 8, White Sox 5
yes 55 games under yes -221 run differential yes 15-game losing streak becoming the longest single-season losing streak ever and tying the longest team losing streak ever yes guaranteed losing record yes it’s July 29
All the hubbub over WHO DID WE ACTUALLY GET IN THE TRADE and then WAIT THAT IS ALL WE GOT IN THE TRADE might have made you forget that the Chicago White Sox played baseball tonight. And, yeah, maybe that wasn’t exactly what they were playing tonight. There were the usual gaffes and garbles, including not one but two throwing errors, three GIDPs (admittedly those cut down on those pesky LOB numbers) and a classic, eighth-inning bullpen meltdown that saw John Brebbia enter to put out the fire then hit a batter and walk a batter to load the bases for the most dangerous hitter in the league:
Brebbia fell to 0-6 on the season but really, it feels like he should get two or three losses for that sequence.
