Emporia community supports mothers-to-be
EMPORIA (KSNT) - Mothers-to-be got some community support at a breastfeeding bash in Emporia.
This event is dedicated to empowering and supporting all mothers. It was also the 50th birthday celebration of WIC, or Women, Infants, and Children. Attendees learned about what goes into keeping children and themselves healthy through breastfeeding.
KSNT 27 News spoke with the Lyon County WIC Director Diana Moore about how the overflow of support for all mothers is a beautiful sight to see.
"I think this is so great to see all of our community come out to support breastfeeding moms, but moms in general," Moore said. Just everything here is just so great. So, I'm a little overwhelmed, really happy to see that everybody's here for us. "
All of the participants also received three tickets for a raffle to win gift baskets.
