Popular dealership to demolish site and replace it with £2m showroom that sells luxury ‘high-end’ car brand
A POPULAR dealership is set to be demolished and replaced with a £2m showroom that sells a luxury “high end” car brand.
Plans have been submitted to tear down Imperials Hornchurch one storey building and replace it with a two-storey structure on Butts Green Road in East London.
The new site will feature a showroom on the ground floor and office space on the first floor.
The new purpose built showroom will feature one “high-end” car. The existing dealership specialises in Lamborghinis and Rolls-Royces.
A previous planning application for a three-storey building at the Imperials dealership site was turned down by the council in October 2023.
Town hall bosses felt it would feature a “visually intrusive feature in the street scene”.
The proposed new two storey building measures more than 200 square metres on the ground floor.
Planning documents also show that the first floor of the building would be set back to keep “the appearance of a single storey shopfront at street level to align with the existing shopping parade”.
The new showroom is expected to cost in the region of £2million pounds to build.
Havering Council is expected to make a decision on the plans by September 9.
Town hall bosses refused a planning application for a three-storey building at the Imperials dealership site in 2023 on the grounds it would be a “visually intrusive feature in the streetscene”.
Access to the showroom from the ground floor was also said to have been a concern.
Imperials specialise in high end motors, from Mercedes Benz G class to Lamborghini and Porsche.
The company has been trading for 25 years , selling new and used motors.
