Rangers Set To Miss Out On Target As Ligue 1 Club Close In
Strasbourg are close to agreeing on a deal to sign Rangers target Goncalo Borges from Portuguese giants FC Porto this summer.
The 23-year-old winger has been heavily linked with a move away from Porto in the ongoing transfer window.
He is one of the players Rangers have been tracking the winger and they saw an offer rejected by Porto for Borges at the weekend.
The Portuguese giants also knocked back a bid from Strasbourg, but the French club are now close to signing the winger.
According to French sports daily L’Equipe, Strasbourg and Porto are in talks for the winger’s transfer and a deal is close to getting agreed upon.
It has been claimed that an agreement worth €8m is being worked upon between the two clubs.
Once a deal is finalised, Strasbourg will look to sort out personal terms with Borges and get him through a medical.
Rangers have been chasing the winger but he is now expected to move to France this summer.
It remains to be seen if the Gers make a late move to try to hijack the swoop.
