Melania Trump's ex-friend pours cold water on former First Lady's 'personal milestone'

Melania Trump on Sunday celebrated what she called a "personal milestone," but a former pal was quick to point out how Donald Trump would do his best to undermine it if her were to become president again.

The former First Lady over the weekend took to social media to celebrate when she became a United States citizen years ago.

"Becoming an American citizen is an achievement that inspired my ongoing commitment to this great nation," Melania said Sunday. "Today marks the 18th anniversary of this personal milestone."

The ex-White House occupant also linked to a statement from 2023, when she said, "I was born and raised in the picturesque country of Slovenia, where my parents taught me the importance of a strong work ethic and pursuing my dreams. The values they instilled in me at an early age inspired my fashion and modeling career, and brought me to beautiful cities like Paris and Milan."

Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, who earlier this year released text messages from the woman she once called a friend, and to whom she served as an advisor during Trump's presidency, was quick to remind Melania about what Trump has said about people in the exact same situation as Melania was once in.

"Melania’s 'Personal Milestone' is JUST that, only for MELANIA TRUMP!" her ex-friend said. "Melania became a US citizen on 7/28/2006 AFTER Barron was born on 3/20/2006."

But, she added, "for EVERYONE ELSE, Trump said he’d end the long-standing CONSTITUTIONAL Right & he’d sign an executive order that 'ENSURES children born to parents who do not have legal status in the U.S. will NOT BE CONSIDERED U.S. Citizens.'"

She then attached a recent news article that clearly demonstrates her point, and notes that litigation would be expected if Trump were to carry out his plan.
