Santa Rosa police seize loaded firearm from juvenile at Transit Mall
By Bay City News
A group of juveniles who were thrown off a bus for causing a disturbance at Santa Rosa’s downtown Transit Mall returned with one of them carrying a gun, police said Saturday.
Several youths challenged the Sonoma County Transit bus driver to a fight after they were removed from the bus Friday, police said in a Facebook post.
The juveniles left the area but returned about 35 minutes later when officers were present, police said.
One of the youths carried a satchel across his chest, police said. An officer searching the juvenile for weapons found a semi-automatic handgun loaded with 16 9mm bullets in a high-capacity magazine, police said.
The juvenile, whose name was not released due to his age, was accused of gun- and gang-related crimes.
