Cypriot judoka Asvesta knocked out in 9th place

Cypriot judoka Sofia Asvesta was defeated on Sunday by French double Olympic medallist Amadine Busa, in the last 16 of the judo tournament in Paris.

Asvesta is now the 9th ranked judoka of the Paris Olympics, having beaten Moroccan Soumiyia Iraoui in the first qualification round.

She had qualified for the round of 16 after beating Soumiya Iraoui from Morocco in a first round match in the 52kg category of the judo tournament at the Olympic Games in Paris.
