RJ Barrett Off To A Solid Start In The 2024 Olympics
As former Duke star opens with a nice game against Greece
Former Blue Devil RJ Barrett started off Olympic play well as Canada beat Greece 86-79 in pool play. Barrett finished with 23 points on 8-13/1-4 from the floor. He also hit 6-6 from the line.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 21 and Dillon Brooks chipped in 14.
As we've said before, Canada’s talent has improved a great deal and they have to be considered a possible medal team.
But things have changed in many ways.
For instance, Greece has the great Giannis Antetokounmpo, and he could not pull Greece past the Canadians.
No one has the depth or athleticism that the US has although, as Josh Giddey pointed out, the US doesn’t have the vast experience as a team that others do. So while Team USA is still favored, anyone can lose at any time.
