Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) announced that due to significant travellogistics issues, Venezuela failed to field a team for the WBSC Women’sBaseball World Cup Finals 2024 opening game against USA, scheduled for Sunday,July 28 at 10:00 local time. The tournament’s technical commission forfeitedthe game and assigned the win to USA.

The rest ofthe Day 1 games will be played as scheduled.

The WBSC iscontinuing to monitor the situation and will provide an update on the WBSC Women’sBaseball World Cup Finals 2024 Day 2 schedule if necessary.
