Will go on 28-day fast from August 15 if government doesn't initiate talks: Sonam Wangchuk

Climate activist Soman Wangchuk threatened a 28-day fast from August 15 if Ladakh authorities are not invited for talks on statehood and constitutional protection demands, submitted to PM Modi by Leh and Kargil alliances. He criticised the government for allegedly backing out of promises on tribal status and statehood for Ladakh. He expressed concern over environmental exploitation and insufficient climate action despite ambitious targets.
