The Nation's Weather for Sunday, July 28, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Thunderstorms, some severe, will occur in the northern
Plains and northern Midwest tomorrow. Severe thunderstorms
can bring localized damaging wind gusts, flash flooding,
hail and even an isolated tornado. Elsewhere, showers and
thunderstorms will stretch from the Gulf Coast states
northward into the middle Mississippi Valley. Repeated
rounds of downpours along the Gulf coast can lead to
flooding problems. An area of high pressure centered over
the eastern Rockies will promote breezy, hot and primarily
dry weather. There can be a spotty afternoon thundershower
in the terrain of Arizona, New Mexico, Montana and Wyoming.
Heat will begin across the Northeast and mid-Atlantic. It
will remain cool across the Northwest, and smoke from nearby
wildfires can lead to hazy skies.
