Rajini posted a snap from the studio as she told fans she’s been diagnosed with endometriosis[/caption]

The correspondent and anchor has been missing from the studio as she revealed she underwent important surgery.

Rajini told fans the operation confirmed she is suffering with ‘severe’ endometriosis.

Posting a snap from the BBC News studio, she said: “Back in studio E this afternoon.

“I’ve been off for a bit as I had surgery which confirmed I have severe endometriosis. Next – to get rid of it.

“Sharing to raise awareness of the condition – took me over a decade (and checks in 3 continents) to finally get diagnosed this year.”

The former Mumbai correspondent was flooded with support from fans, as one said: “Take care, Rajini. Wish you heal soonest.”

A second wrote: “Sorry that you’ve been unwell & had to have surgery & that it’s taken so long for a diagnosis. Lovely to see you back.”

“Welcome back, Rajini, and sorry to hear of your health woes. It is indeed a terrible condition. Best wishes for a full recovery. Plump that big hair. Standby studio,” said a third.

While a fourth commented: “Great to see you back on BBC News this afternoon. Wishing you a good speedy recovery.”

Meanwhile, BBC News recently welcomed back Karin Giannone after she was stood down from presenting duties over a year ago.

Karin was dropped along with Geeta Guru-Murthy, Kasia Madera, Annita McVeigh and Martine Croxall after they were all forced to re-apply for their jobs on the BBC News channel.
