Shoppers stunned to spot Christmas chocs at ANOTHER major supermarket – they’re all saying the same thing
FOODIES were gobsmacked after finding popular boxes of the Christmas treats for sale in Morrisons – at the height of summer.
The admin behind a food reviewing page revealed they’d spotted tubs of Celebrations and Quality Street at their local Morrisons.
The anonymous food blogger told Newfoodsuk: “Spotted today at Morrisons! Holidays are coming!”
Foodies took to the post to poke fun at the retailer’s decision to stock the festive treats.
One said: “5 months lol”, while another welcomed the decision: “Well it has felt like that with today’s weather!”
A different user chimed in to agree: “Might as well start preparing for Christmas. This summer been sh***.”
But one foodie moaned: “Prices gone up and the tubs have shrunk.”
Another was also disappointed with the timing of their stock release: “Way too early.”
And others were more bothered by what they felt were extortionate prices, with the supermarket chain flogging the Celebrations for £6 a tub.
The chain was selling Quality Street for £3.50.
One user penned: “You mean chocolate isn’t sold all year round?”
But if you’re not put off by the Christmas connotation, here’s how you can buy Quality Streets on the cheap for an end of term teacher’s gift.
The treat filled tubs, mostly associated with Christmas, are an easy win for busy parents buying presents for teachers ahead of the summer holidays.
Usually, the octagonal tins don’t make an appearance on supermarket shelves until the winter months.
However, containers of a popular chocolates were spotted piled high in Tesco earlier this month.
Commenting on a Facebook post, one shopper said: “Quality Street are for end of year teacher gifts.”
The tubs have been spotted in branches across the country including in Suffolk, Essex and London.
But it is not just Tesco that has a supply of the festive favourite.
The Sun has rounded up where you can buy Quality Street chocolates and how much each shop will set you back.
The UK’s largest retailer is selling a 600g tub of the chocolates for £6.
However, there is a way to knock £2.50 off the price.
If you are a Tesco Clubcard holder you can purchase the tub for £4.50.
The loyalty scheme allows shoppers to earn points as they shop, which can be turned into money off food or other items.
