Balenciaga’s newest sneaker is here.
Called the Circuit sneaker, the silhouette is the luxury fashion brand’s latest athletic-inspired shoe that plays with oversized proportions. But despite its size, the shoe is lightweight and features an augmented design of a traditional gym shoe – a common theme for the company.
Details of the Circuit sneaker include a sole that swells under the ball and heel, aimed at supporting motion and agility. The shoe’s upper is comprised of aerodynamic vented panels and a fused eye stay. Three different Balenciaga logomarks decorate the shoe’s exterior, illustrating the sneaker’s hybrid design.
To launch the new style, Balenciaga has teamed up with photographer Chris Lensz on a series of portraits featuring models wearing the shoes in a white and silver colorway.
The Circuit sneaker is the latest release from Balenciaga creative director Demna. In the company’s most recent spring 2025 runway show in May, Balenciaga revealed a new collaboration with Under Armour which includes a range of footwear items.
One of the collaborative shoe models plays on the house’s exaggerated chunky 3XL sneaker, replacing the usual synthetic upper paneling with what appears to be a knitted or engineered mesh construction. Previewed in white and black styles, the 3XL’s standard extended sole remains the same, and the shoe also maintains the two-tone laces seen on normal Balenciaga iterations.
Along with the new takes on the 3XL came two colorways of an unnamed model. The ribbed, high-top knit shoes are reminiscent of Under Armour’s Highlight 2 football cleats and also bear a resemblance to Balenciaga’s popular Speed Runner sneakers.
In April, Balenciaga launched the 10XL sneaker, which continues the label’s exploration of exaggerated and extreme silhouettes. The style features a worn-out effect, a sporty “B” logo on the upper, and an angled “B” logo (first used on the Cargo sneaker in the brand’s spring 2024 collection) on each shoe’s outward-facing side.
The Balenciaga Circuit sneaker, which retails for $990, is now available in men’s and women’s sizes at Balenciaga stores and on Balenciaga.com.
