UNHRC voices concern about alleged discrimination and violence against minority groups in India
The UN Human Rights Committee expressed concerns about discrimination and violence against minority groups in India, including Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, scheduled castes, tribes, and LGBTI people. They urged India to adopt anti-discrimination legislation and address human rights violations stemming from counter-terrorism laws in disturbed areas such as Jammu and Kashmir.
