0

TOPEKA (KSNT) - Kansas Secretary of State (SOS) Scott Schwab confirms former President Donald Trump and his running mate J. D. Vance are now on the ballot for the upcoming General Election in November.

The SOS issued a press release on Wednesday, July 24 stating that an official certificate containing nominations for Trump and Vance as Republican candidates for president and vice-president have been received. Their names will be entered on the Nov. 5, 2024 General Election ballot.

This follows the recent Republican National Convention in Milwaukee where Trump and Vance were certified as the Republican nominees for president and vice-president. Certification of the Democrat Party's presidential and vice-presidential candidates will be handled following the Democrat National Convention from Aug. 19-22 in Chicago.

Alongside Trump and Vance for the office of president in Kansas are the Libertarian candidates. These are presidential candidate Chase Oliver and his running mate Mike ter Maat. You can check the full list of political candidates in the upcoming General Election in Kansas by clicking here.

National political parties have until Sept. 1, 2024 to submit names for presidential electors to the SOS. Kansas law shows there is no deadline for national political parties to certify their nominees for the office of president.
