Twitter Gold: Caitlin Clark’s Dazzling Vision

Very, very few players could pull this off

Whatever your opinion of her is, and there are apparently quite a few, Caitlin Clark has turned the WNBA upside down. She's brought unprecedented attention to the league and with it has come a fair amount of resentment.

Remember when Diana Tarausi and Sue Bird warned her that it wasn’t college basketball anymore and she wouldn’t be able to burn college freshmen anymore? There was a brief adjustment period and then she was just, again, head and shoulders over most of her rivals.

It’s all kind of baffling and amazing to see the responses. All she wants to do is to play basketball at the highest possible level and that she has done.

Take this play from a recent game. This is one of the greatest passes we’ve seen in a long time. Not many people would have the vision to do it. Less would have the nerve. And of that diminishing number, even less would have the ability to actually pull this off. And the decision time was pretty much instantaneous. And - this is no minor detail - the pass connnected and her teammate scored.

We’re not saying she’s Bird, Magic or the Joker, but you can safely say this: it’s a pass they would have tried, and if they’ve seen it, we’d bet they admired it too.
