Taking to a public Facebook group, UK Severe Weather & Thunderstorm Updates, one garden-lover Sarah Garrett went viral when she shared her solution to the soggy summer – a picture of a tent she had purchased set up in her garden.

She penned: “I’ve bought myself a little storm tent [grinning face emoji] come rain or shine [rolling on the floor laughing face and rain cloud emoji].”

The pictures she uploaded showed the spacious tent, which costs £49.99 from The Range, and she’d set up with two garden chairs and table inside.

Nearly 3000 people found they could relate and took to the comments to say how great they thought the find was, with endless summer-lovers saying it wasn’t a want but a ‘need’.

“We should get one of these! Put it up and have a big pot of tea inside [grinning face emojis],” wrote one person.

Another said: “Here we go, this is EXACTLY what we need.”

A third commented: “My god it’s not a want it’s a need.”

“How cool are these?” a fourth penned.

Someone else, who already owns the £50 tent, said: “My daughter has autism and we have one of these for her so we can still attend events but she also has her own space!

“It’s worked wonders and means we can do stuff as a family without worrying she will want to go home early due to noise or people.

However, others weren’t so impressed.

“A light shower tent [laughing face emoji] last about 15 seconds in a good storm,” one person commented.

Another wrote: “No good if lightning hits it.”

A third joked: “You’ve jinxed it for yourself now it won’t rain [peaking face emojis].”

On The Range’s website, the £49.99 tent’s description reads; “Lightweight and easy to carry, this Two Person Pop-Up Tent is ideal for taking along to sports or music events to give yourself some shelter, whatever the weather.

“Made from polyester with a PVC panel, this tent can shield you from light rain and provide shade from the sun. With room for two adults, this tent has an easy access door and fold up or down within seconds.

Some have left reviews and called the product “brilliant.”

“This little tent survived the latest storms!! Absolutely fabulous item.
