I had to run home to try Costco’s Sol de Janeiro dupe – it was 10/10, it felt the exact same & smelled great too

A COSTCO shopper was wowed when she found a strikingly similar product to Sol de Janeiro’s Brazilian Bum Bum cream for a fraction of the price.

She ran home to compare the scent and texture of the nourishing skincare products.

Laura Saxe (@darlinggoose) has over 84,000 followers on TikTok, where she shares a glimpse into her life.

SEEING DOUBLES

She went viral on the social media app when she posted about a budget-friendly beauty buy.

She was browsing the shelves at Costco when she came across the store’s Nutrius Brazilian Body Butter Cream.

“When I saw this at Costco, I had to immediately run home to see if this could really be a dupe of Sol de Janeiro’s Bum Bum cream which in Canada is 63 heckin dollars,” she said.

“The pack from Costco was two for $20, so only $10 per cream.”

Laura placed the Nutrius Brazilian Body Butter Cream alongside Sol de Janeiro’s Brazilian Bum Bum cream to show that the packing was almost identical.

“SDJ is amazing – the smell!!! The formula!!! So hydrating and leaves your skin so smooth, not sticky at all – it just makes you feel like an [angel],” she said.

However, the Costco cream couldn’t be considered a dupe unless it smelled and felt the same as Sol De Janeiro’s.

Having sniffed each product, she shared her honest opinion and began to apply them to her skin.

“The smell was pretty similar overall, but the Bum Bum cream was slightly sweeter,” she said.

“Then I had to try it on so I did a side-by-side of the Bum Bum and Costco.

“Other than the slight color difference they felt the exact same on my skin.

“Overall this is a 10/10 dupe.”

Laura was impressed by the affordable body cream from Costco and urged her followers to try it for themselves in the caption of her video.

“If you’ve been personally victimized by Sol de Janeiro’s $63 cream, RUN to Costco now,” she said.

SPEEDY SHOPPERS

Almost 214,000 viewers liked the video and many commenters were grateful for the suggestion.

“Heckin dollars? [laughing] Going tomorrow thanks for the comparison,” one person said.

“I love Costco’s version tbh [to be honest] it absorbs so fast,” another commented.

“I love this! I’ve bought it twice now and I always get so many compliments,” a third chimed in.

“I personally love it and have bought it multiple times now (Bum Bum is def sweeter),” another said.

“Nice to have this to break up the cost in between buying the real.”
